The images can speak! During the early 1900's child labor began in America, putting many children at risk mentally and physically. Worldwide child labor remains an everyday task for as many as 280 million children (http://www.iccle.org/globaltaskforce.php3). They work on farms, factories and in sweatshops for extremely low wages and most have little or no education. While numerous people are aware of child labor, and will openly share their opinion on how it needs to stop, many still continue to purchase clothes, toys, and other items that are made by children, who work in terrible conditions for extremely low wages. Child labor addresses many issues and thoughts such as, the lack of enforcement of child labor laws, which exist in most countries in the world, dehumanization, and the social effects of these uneducated children becoming our future. In this essay I analyze different photographs show the negative consequences of child labor. In the first image, taken by Jackson, William Henry in 1895 consist of a young boy about 7 to 8 years old and he is carrying two large trunks on his head. By the way he was dressed I can tell it was a hot summer day. I can immediately see the frustration in his face which leads me to think he was not happy. My imaginations lead me to conclude his thought, thoughts that tell me he wants to be in another place. Why him? Why not someone else? Looking at his weight automatically makes me think he must not have food to eat every day. He is walking on his bare feet, no shoes on concrete floors he must not have money to afford shoes. This young male is getting treated unfair because he shouldn't be allowed to work under these conditions and he is also carrying two large trunks he can easily injure himself. The trunks look like the weight more than him. In the second image I chose, there is about 75 young males referred to as "breaker boys". Published in 1901, by Detroit publishing company. A breaker boy was a worker in the United States whose job was to separate impurities from coal by hand in a coal breaker. This photo demonstrated the amount of work these kids did, they look very dirty. The lack of showers is clearly illustrated. Most look sad and disappointed. They are all dressed with the same uniform. They look like hard working young children. The conditions they are in look unsanitary and unsafe. These kids look like they just want to have some fun and stop working for a while. In the third image taken by Amanda Kloer on September 10, 2009 it illustrates child labors still exist in today's society. This child appears to be about 8 or 9 years of age. He is carrying four bricks at a time; anyone could imagine how heavy bricks are. He looks so young and dirty just like all the other kids look in the photo explained above. They way he is dressed look so poor which makes me think he gets paid little or no money for his work done. This child is being abused he is young and he is working in unsanitary conditions. These three images clearly show how child labor can affect one's life. These kids are being abused both mentally and physically. They all work in unsanitary conditions with harmful objects around them. Child labor takes away from a child life. Child labor doesn't let the child grow safe and secure. It doesn't let the child enjoy life when they are kids. Their only child memories would be them working not them having fun. Child labor abuses kids in many ways such as physical abuse and mental abuse. I completely disagree with child labor. Many laws have gone out to prevent child labor but some way or another you always seem to find a young child working. Children shouldn't have to help their parents at such a young age there only duty should be getting an education.

Open Question: What are your predictions for this week?

Here are mine Pittsburgh Steelers @ Cleveland Browns - The steelers now are an outside shot of making the playoffs, if they don't want to go to no shot they have to run the table. I think having the browns is good news for them. New Orleans Saints @ Atlanta Falcons - The saints dodged the trap by teh skin of their teeth but quite frankly I think Atlanta is too morally depleted to put up any type of fight. Denver Broncos @ Indianapolis Colts - This is an interesting game. On the one hand the broncos have a good defense most of the time, and the the colts really don't. On the other hand its at indy and I think Indy is simply a better team than Denver. I will take indy here. Buffalo Bills @ Kansas City Chiefs - I think the bills have played with some enthusiasm lately and I see another victory coming to them this weekend. Detroit Lions @ Baltimore Ravens - Baltimore should have little difficulty with the browns. Miami Dolphins @ Jacksonville Jaguars - Jacksonville should keep their momentum going and take out the dolphins at home. New York Jets @ Tampa Bay Buccaneers - New York might not be the greatest team but they will win this one. Cincinnati Bengals @ Minnesota Vikings - This one will be interesting because it is a home game for the Vikes. I think Cincy is slightly better overall than MN, but at home I think the Vikes find a way to win. Green Bay Packers @ Chicago Bears - A road game after a monday night is never easy, but the bears are simply not a good squad and I think the Pack will beat them. Carolina Panthers @ New England Patriots - For the Pats there is no place like home. They don't seem to blow huge leads here and I think they will rebound from 2 strait losses. Seattle Seahawks @ Houston Texans - The Jokers at the Chokers. This game should really be a heads up game between two teams that run around with their heads in their asses. I think Houston should be able to avoid finding a way to lose this one. Washington Redskins @ Oakland Raiders - Oakland only plays well against teams that should beat them easily. But then again the redskins are the same way. I like the raiders here. St. Louis Rams @ Tennessee Titans - Titans are pretty much out of it, but not mathematically. I think the titans win this one, just holding on to that slight ray of hope that is quickly slipping away from them. San Diego Chargers @ Dallas Cowboys - Dallas at home should play well, but the chargers are no easy task. Dallas' offense has struggled against good defenses, but the chargers defense isn't that good. I like Dallas to eak out a 3 point win in a high scoring game. Philadelphia Eagles @ New York Giants - New York can beat Philly at home, but I am not convinced they will. You just never know which giants team will show up one week to the next, I like Philly to win this one. Arizona Cardinals @ San Francisco 49ers - I think the cards will keep up their good play and win this one on the road. 10 points to the one who gets the most right.
