Open Question: relationship advice please? :(?OK well I'm 18 and im dating a 24 year old. for 8 months He is my first real relationship, and he wants more like marriage but the problem is my parents and my situation..Because hes Egyptian and im Greek and our religion is completely different my mother doesn't accept it because he is Muslim and because im to young to date. my boyfriend friends tell him that his relationship with me wont go anywhere cuz i still live with my parents and listen to my mom and i cant make my own choices. im afraid to tell my mom that im still with my boyfriend. and that i want to be with him. my boyfriend also has a feeling thinking i will dump him and say i cant go through with this its to hard cuz of my family.. yeah im afraid i lie to my mother i tell her im out with friends but im actually with my boyfriend he loves me very much..my mom always ask if anything is going on with him cuz she knows who he is but i keep saying nothing is going on and it hurts my boyfriend.. i cant tell her the truth im afraid she wont let me see him again my mom is very protective i cant do anything with her and my reltionship is a secret to all my family members also there was a chance we got caught in the movies theaters and my boyfriend said i wana talk to your parents so they know im serious i told that to my dad and he said no..i know im to young to marry but i wana have a normal relationship with him not my mom on my back. they are not giving him a chance.. Open Question: Why are there so many DWI checkpoints around the holidays?I have drove drunk atleast a 1000 times and never gotten caught, I have my seatbelt on and all my info such as inspection sticker up to date so i go through them all the time without problems even when i am drunk. BUT heres my point, during the holidays many people who don't normally drink and drive are coming home from christmas and new years parties and since they don't have the experience driving drunk they get caught some of these people are older and only drink and drive once a year. It seems like the police are trying to get money by taking advantage of people who normally don't drink and drive. Kind of sucks for them if you ask me. What do you think? Upon moving in said apartment, I realized it was a dump. From the past three weeks the lock on my door became busted and now anyone can come into my room with ease. The doors are double french doors that do not have much space for any additional locks. My landlord refuses to fix my lock or replace my doors. Recently, I have had a housemate break into my room and steal money from me as well as harass me. Other things wrong with the apartment is that the dryer does not work and the floorboards are weak and starting to deteriorate. The landlord ignores these problems as well. I gave the landlord a one month notice that I wish to move out. He refuses to refund my pre-paid, post-dated checks, money if I do move out and has even threatened to sue me. My landlord did have a way out of breaking the lease. That was by paying extra money in rent. Hoever, he neglected to tell me and it wasn't in my contract. I found this out from another housemate. And he refuses to let me do this so I can move out. The lease is between me and my landlord. I live in ontario, canada. He left out several rules in our contract. What can I do? Legally? Open Question: I kicked the boyfriend out, and things are not improving?About 4 months ago I started writing on these Q/A things- I used to live with my 29 year old boyfriend in an apartment paid for by my employer...(I manage the complex). We had a huge break-up fight and didn't speak for a week- I packed all of his things and he moved back to his moms-where he was before he moved in with me. And let me mention that he doesn't think there is a problem with him living with his mom and dad. The ultimatum was "Get a job or we are done!" He currently bartends 2-3 nights a week...that's all. Well he didn't get a job, but did handle his minimal money that he takes in better. We began talking again, mostly because I was so lonely and I do care for him. I thought maybe he would shape up. But, he has been at his parents for over an month and now has decided that he will just work on my new house as his "job". I just bought a duplex (by myself with my savings) and I will live in one side and rent the other. It does need some work, but how can he reason that this is enough "work" for him to do and not get a job?! How do I convince him he must get a job to stay with me? It is embarresing to say I am 23 with a degree and working 50+ hours a week dating a MAN who is 29 and works 20 hours a week at a bartending gig.
