Open Question: So my gf and I have been dating for almost 6 years and she recently she wants a break, Why?She said some things like I love you, but I am not in love with you. She says she wants a little space, but from the sounds of it, it sounds like it is over completely. Why after 5 years would you decide to say something like this. I guess the biggest problem also is the only correct answer is really from her and she is being cryptic. Overall the question is does it sound like the relationship is over is there still hope or what? I really love her, but you can't make someone who doesn't love you love you. What should I do or say to convey the message that I love her and I think she is making a mistake? Some more details, We are 23 and yes we have been dating since we were 16. We are both almost done with college and plan to keep attending college. We have talked about marriage before and one of the things we talked about was not until we are both done with schooling all together. I had talked to her friends and parents and they thought she was acting weird and even her friends are confused by whats going on. She has been hanging out with a new group of people lately and I wonder if she has found someone else she likes but despite my questions she says no. I did buy her a promise ring for our 4 year anniversary and maybe its just the stress she has from school. Right now the deal is we wont call or talk to each other until she is done with finals, and we agreed to that three days ago yet she called me today and told me she missed me I am confused.
