Open Question: Wedding date: How would you reconcile this problem?My fiancee and I got engaged last month, and have been planning a wedding for sometime in 2010. After my fiancee researched and contacted some 15+ possible wedding reception sites, we have decided on two final possibilities. Neither option is very cheap, but her parents will be paying for the bulk of it, with my father contributing maybe 15%. Now, the problem is this: when we told everyone we were engaged, we said we were thinking about an October wedding, which everyone but my father was OK with. He lives 2000 miles away (after moving there from our town a few years ago) from where we live and where the wedding will be held. He teaches at a college, as I do too, and he says that October is too busy for him to fly back. We changed the date to mid-December, which he said still doesn't work, and then I discussed with him early-November. He now is pressing for a July-August date. My fiancee does not want a summer wedding, and is not too enthused about a November wedding date. She, and her family, like the idea of a mid-December wedding. My father says weather could be a problem for him in December (which could imperil his presence), and that he would rather be able to fly at a time when he could take a week off. As for me, I don't necessarily care which month we have the wedding in. I initially was against a summer wedding becasue I wanted more time to plan, but there are advantages to a summer wedding for me (I'm off work). Yet, a December wedding appeals to me too, and my fiancee really wants to have it then. I think my father is being completely selfish, and he is really pressing hard. So, what should I do? What would you do? Open Question: I secretly have a crush on my ex's best friend. What do I do?I have had a crush on his best friend long before i ever went out with him. By atleast a year! The only reason I never dated him was because my best friend liked him. Now all four of us are single. My bestie has no problem with me liking him but how long should i wait until I date his friend??? ( we broke up a few days ago.) Open Question: what should i do? feeling out of place..?soi went to a really small private school grades 1-8. now im going to the HUGE publlic highschool. people from my old school went here too, including my best friend,but i still feel kinda out of place.ive made tons of friends and everything, but everyone already has their "groups" from middle school. so i hand out with them in school and in my classes but out of school and stuffff im still mostly with my friends from the previous school. another problem about thisss is boyfriends. i really like this guy, but if i startedd dating him i wouldnt know his friends they wouldn't know me and i feel like it would just be really akward. please help mee! thankss everyone<3 Open Question: I really like this shy girl and I could use some help?We're both friends. She hasn't gone out with anyone before and she is kinda shy. We're both 16. When we talk together, we have a good time and I usually get her to laugh. I want to talk to her more, but the problem is, I have trouble finding opportunities to talk to her. We have 4 classes together, but we have assigned seats in all of them, so I can't just sit next to her. Sometimes we split up into groups and sometimes I'm with her, but its rare when that happens. Also she is always with friends so I can't just talk to her without somehow finding my way into their conversation and it's really hard when she is with her friend that doesn't like me at all. I really want her to get an idea that I like her, but I need some help in doing that. Also, how can I kinda flirt with her, but in a way so it isn't too obvious. I don't have that much dating experience and I'm kinda shy myself so any imput helps. Thanks Oh yeah, today we have a home basketball game and I'm on the team and she is cheerleading so she'll probably be there early so I might have a chance to talk to her. Open Question: Should I ask for Dad's permission to marry daughter?My girlfriend I think would prefer I ask, ideally, she said she'd like for me to do it months and months ago but after a while she seemed to change her mind and not really care. She said it doesn't matter if I do or not, but I think in a perfect world she'd want me to. The problem is that the dad and I are pretty different people. We have a pleasant but uncomfortable relationship. He's never seemed to be particularly fond of me. His wife has told me he has issues with me just because I am dating his one and only daughter. His son has told me that he thinks he either dislikes or just tolerates me. He's very private and a terrible communicator. I honestly don't know that he would want to be asked. The tradition of asking him holds no special place in my family or heart but if I thought that it would benefit everyone else I'd do it. Thoughts?? Open Question: My ex is back sorta. I have a bf and he's amazing. help !?I've been dating this guy for about 10 months and he is amazing.. we have a great relationship. i guess you would call us a fairy tale. He is a football player and im a cheerleader. We do lots together. he gets along with my friends and makes me feel good. he is 3 years older than me which isnt a problem. i love him lots but recently i had a dream about my ex from a couple years ago and we talk and flirt at school all the time. he knows i have a boyfriend and he's not trying to steal me away but i don't know if were over each other. we didn't date for very long but long enough. he's cute and funny and not serious, which i think is what i want right now. Me and my current boyfriend have talked about marriage and stuff but i'm not sure im ready for that yet. HELP. P.S.- i love my current boyfriend and wouldn't ever want to hurt him and this other guy is just an ex but really nice and stuff. Open Question: why is he spreading rumors!?Ok. 4 years ago i dated my ex for the third time and i kissed this other guy and we broke up badly. Since then i tried to get him back. He has seemed pretty interested. We were both 17. Now were 22 and for the past 8 months we have been friends, and when we see each other we have fun and all that good stuff. Im pretty sure he is narsatic. He displayed all traits and has some emotional problems.I dont want to get into the details. Basically i had enough of his bullshit because sometimes he acted like he loved me/and now its like im nothing.I treated him nicely, lent him money, and was loyal. We got into sveral fights recently because He's been talking smack and tellin people I'm all over him.He lives in Dominican Republic. Its pissing me off because he was the jerk, and so I just decided to move on. I couldnt take this bullshit its been going on since we were ten. Since I dropped him last week he has told be that I was going to kill my self for him and all this other bullshit.
